Michael Rocco Cannatti Biography

Mr. Cannatti is a partner in Hamilton & Terrile, LLP. Previously, he was a partner in the Austin office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP where he was part of the intellectual property practice group, working extensively on patent litigation matters involving computer and semiconductor related technology.
His practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent protection of electrical/electronic devices, circuits, systems, and computer software; patent, trademark and unfair competition litigation matters; patentability and infringement analyses; and related intellectual property matters.
Mr. Cannatti has a strong background in computer technology, including integrated circuit design and process technology, microprocessor architecture design, analog-to-digital converter design, automated trading exchange and other financial technologies, software applications and other commercial product applications.
Mr. Cannatti received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989.
He is admitted to practice in the state of Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
